5 Reasons Preplanning Your Funeral is a Smart Idea

There Are Benefits to Preplanning!

Preplanning your funeral isn't at the top of anyone's "favorite things" list, but it's incredibly important. Even more so - it's smart! Here's why:

  1. You can decide exactly how you want everything: the service, officiant, music, readings, flowers, tributes, burial style (traditional or cremation,) location, etc. You will alleviate tension among family members by making your wishes known and ensuring they are honored.
  2. Give your family some emotional relief. When you preplan, your family won't have to make any difficult decisions at a time of heightened emotion.
  3. When you preplan, you can save money by locking in today's prices. You're protected against rising costs on some funeral goods and services.
  4. You can pre-pay for a portion or all of the service, or set up a payment plan. Doing so will relieve the financial burden on your family and give you peace of mind. Studies have shown that family members want to spend more on funerals for loved ones when they don't know what their wishes are.
  5. If you move, your plan goes with you, because funeral plans are transferable. If you have plans at another funeral home and would like to move them here, we will help you do that. If you move from this area and would like to transfer your arrangements to another funeral home, we will assist you with that as well.
