Yvonne R. Mcnamara

Yvonne R. McNamara, age 80 of Hastings, died peacefully at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on Wednesday evening, November 18, 2020. Yvonne Rose, the daughter of Anthony and Cynthia (Weber) Smrstick, was born on August 19, 1940, in Tony, Wisconsin. Following her graduation from Tony High School with the class of 1959, Yvonne was united in marriage to Allen Clark and they were blessed with four children and twenty-four years of marriage prior to being later divorced. On January 10, 1986, Yvonne married to Arthur "Art" McNamara in Ham Lake. They enjoyed taking many extensive road trips in their RV and spending time with family and friends along the way. Yvonne was a longtime employee of School District 833 in Washington County, mostly as a secretary and media clerk. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tony Smrstick and Eugene (Irma Jean) Smrstick; and by her son, Allen Clark. Yvonne is survived by her husband, Art; children, Christine (Don) Moe, Julie (Ronald) Kaplan, Susan (Greg) Roe, Lisa (Rob) Garves, and Kevin (Katie) McNamara; grandchildren, Adam Clark, Andrea (Ryan) Onstad, Aaron Moe, Madi Roe, Faith Moe, Tanner Roe, Heather Garves, Ryan Garves, Zachary Garves, Taylor Garves, Eddie McNamara, and Marjie McNamara; siblings, LeRoy "Bubby" (Marlene) Smrstick, Jerry (Deloris) Smrstick, Donny (Evy) Smrstick, Annette "Sis" (Robert) Vaughn, Dennis (Bonnie) Smrstick, Bobby (Beverly) Smrstick, Kathy (John) Cleere, and Larry (Diane) Smrstick; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Yvonne's family is planning to host a Celebration of Her Life when times allow, please continue to check back for those details. Yvonne's family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's choice in her memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
