William J. Tix

William Joseph Tix, age 79, of Hastings, diedMay 7, 2008 at his home. William was born April 23, 1929 in Hampton, MN to William B. and Martina R. (Sorenson) Tix.He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict andlater worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, being outdoors, drinking coffee, and gabbing with the guys. William was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Janet, and grandson Eric. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Grotjohn) Tix; 7 children, Stephan Tix of Dawsonville, GA, Patrick Tix of Hastings, William Tix of Sauk Centre, Clayton Tix of Red Wing, Timothy (Brenda) Tix,Joy Tix Martin, and Daniel (Trisha) Tix all of Hastings; his 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Lucille (Francis) Woods of Bellflower, CA andJan (Raymond) Dushek of Owatonna; alsonumerous in-laws. The Memorial Service for William J. Tix will be held at 9:30am Saturday, May 10, 2008at the ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings, with a visitation held 1 hour prior to the service at church.
