William J Hobday

William (Bill) J. Hobday May 17, 1934 – December 5, 2014 William Joseph Hobday (Bill) died peacefully in Hastings, MN at the Augustana Nursing Home after fighting a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease on December 5, 2014. He was born in Montevideo, MN on May, 17, 1934 to William and Agnes (Moudry) Hobday. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN and was proud to be a “Johnnie”. He spent the majority of his work career at the Gillette Co in St. Paul, MN. He enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, traveling with his bride, MN sports, music, and his family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughters, Mary (Joe) Lawrence; Anne (Brad) Stoneberg; Jeanne (Tom) Kranz; and Sharon (Dean) Hicks of Hastings, MN; Margaret (Dan) Meier of Woodbury, MN; and Laura McElroy of Olathe, KS; 17 grandchildren; his brother, James (Cosette) Hobday; and many nieces and nephews. Kay and family wish to extend a most sincere thank you to all of the Augustana Angels for their extraordinary care and love over the past 3 years. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Dave Hennen, will be held on Wed. (12/10) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A gathering will be held 2 hours prior to mass at church. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Memorials preferred. The Wise Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
