William E. Bender

William E. Bender, age 88 of S. Mpls, formerly of Burnsville, born January 13, 1918 in Shawano, WI, passed away Nov. 6, 2006. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from the Naval Reserves after 27 years. He was retired from the State of Minnesota Dept. Of Employee Relations as a Labor Negotiator. Bill was also an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Mpls. He is preceded in death by brother, Maurice and sister, Edna Rogentine. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Helen; brother, Carlos of Yakima, WA and nieces and nephews. Visitation, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Nov 9, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. S., Mpls. and also one hour before the service at church. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2006 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church; 3045 Chicago Ave. S., Mpls. Private interment Ft. Snelling. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olive Lutheran Ch. Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Assn.
