William "Buzz" Walker

William E. "Buzz" Walker, age 80, of Hastings died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehab Community. Buzz was born March 12, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI to Elmer and Emily (Klapper) Walker. He married Sharon Ziebarth on September 11, 1965 in Minneapolis. He was a former owner and operator of the Midtown Bakery and Cafe in Hastings. Buzz loved to golf, visit the casino, and mostly loved being with his grandkids, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Peggy Fuchs and a brother Robert Walker. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Susan (Gary) Heberlig of Spearfish, SD and Bruce (Julie) Walker of Shell Lake, WI; his grandchildren Graham, Audrey, Sarah and Parker Heberlig and Clare Walker; sisters Joan (Don) Benning, Pat (Don) Gard and Bette (Tom) Swanson; sister in law Rita Walker and brother in law Gene Fuchs; also by many nieces, nephews, friends and his dog Muttley.In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.Memorial Service, officiated by Gordon Gathright, will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 201 East 7th St. Hastings, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment at a later date in Spearfish, South Dakota.
