Virginia C. Mayer

Virginia C. Mayer, age 80 of Hastings died peacefully on December 3, 2013 at her home, surrounded by family. Virginia was born December 5, 1932 in Hastings to John and Maude (Hyde) Bloomstrand. She attended Hastings school and married James �Jim� Mayer on May 1, 1951 in South Dakota. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Virginia is survived by her husband Jim; daughters Deb (David) Olson and Susan (Gary) Thompson; sons Jeff (Mary Kay), James Jr., Tim (Vicky), Ken and David (Christina); also many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her loving dog, Ruby; and many other family and friends. The Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Menke will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 7 at Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 W Ninth St, Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings at a later date.
