Violet Marie Johnson

Violet Marie Johnson, 88 of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 1. She was born January 2, 1922 in Osakis MN to Jake and Marie (nee Drexler) Housen. Violet lived out her passion for sewing by creating slipcovers until she was 80. Her strong faith and sense of humor will always be cherished. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Johnson, sister JoAnn Walsh, and brother Marvin Housen. Survivors include daughter Susan (Rick) Searing, daughter-in-law Maureen Johnson, sons Gregg Johnson, Gary (Cindy) Johnson, Tom Voigt, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons and 5 great-granddaughters – but everyone who knew her could call her ‘Grandma’. The family extends sincere appreciation to the Peterson’s of Lakeville and Mala Strana Care Center in New Prague for your loving care.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Friday, October 8, at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley. Memorial Mass will be 11 AM Saturday, October 9, with visitation at 10 AM and a gathering of family and friends with lunch and continued sharing of stories after the service at All Saints Catholic Church, 19795 Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville.
