Viola M. Werner

Viola Mary (Bauer) Werner, age 95, of Vermillion, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, surrounded by her seven loving and caring children. Viola was born on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1927 in Vermillion Township, MN to Jacob and Clara Bauer. She recently celebrated her 95th birthday on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. On September 25, 1948, Viola married Ernest Werner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion. Viola lovingly raised her seven children and proudly worked in the family business of Werner Implement for over 50 years, managing the books, running for parts and picking up equipment on a daily basis all over the 5 state area. She was endlessly dedicated to church, work, and family. Viola has always been passionate about the Blessed Virgin Mary and praying the rosary. In her later years she humbly made nearly 5,000 rosaries for third world countries. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Werner; parents, Jacob and Clara Bauer; brothers, Arnold, John, Sylvester and Herbert Bauer; and son-in-law Mark Jorgensen. She is survived by her brother, Bernard (MaryLou) Bauer of Hampton; her children Marlene (Mark Jorgensen, deceased) Werner of Roseville, Mel (Chris) Werner of Hastings, Shirl (Tom) Daly of Minnetonka, Charlie (Jody) Werner of Hastings, Deb (Dan) Traun of St. Paul, Sharon (Chuck Hanna) Werner of Maplewood and Lori (Jake Bakken) Sacchetti of Hastings; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley), Greg (Tracy), Jake and Joey Werner, Patrick (Stephanie), John (Kelli) and David (Heidi) Daly, Jamie (Ryan) Hanford, Beau (Katie), Zach (Mac) and Sam (Tori) Werner, Svetlana, Luda, Alla and Marcus Traun, Ernest Hanna, Anna (Brian) Brcka and Michael Sacchetti; great-grandchildren, Carson, Maverick and Chase Werner, Nora, Lauren, Nellie, Brooks, Hadley, Emerson, Whitney and William Daly, Alison, Caitlin and Matthew Hanford, Isla, Rylee and soon to arrive Baby Werner; many nieces, nephews and friends. A Special Thank You to the staff at United Hospital - Hastings Regina Campus, the Benedictine Care Center in Hastings, and the Allina Hospice team for the love and care that was given to our Mother and our family. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Viola's memory, please direct all donations to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or School. Visitation will be 4:00pm - 7:00pm Wednesday, August 24th at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Thursday, August 25th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion with visitation from 9:30am - 10:45am in the church prior to service. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Vermillion. Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is assisting the family.
