Vanda S. Plifka

Age 86 of Apple Valley, born May 26, 1934 in Avon, MN to Stanis & Victoria Kociemba, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, August 13, 2020.

Vanda had a variety of jobs including working at Honeywell, VA Hospital, managing a Bakery Thrift Store, and caring for children in her in-home daycare. She enjoyed taking modeling classes and winning the title of Miss Honeywell. She took great pride in her grandchildren, backyard raspberry patch, & her dog, Patches. She loved jigsaw puzzles & embroidery.

Vanda will be dearly missed by her children: John (Sandra) Plifka, Bonnie (Paul) Montgomery & Janet (Robert) Goble; daughter-in-law, Laurie Plifka; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother Stan (LaRue) Kociemba; sisters, Alice Buchholz, & Jeanette (Wally) Waletzko & many other family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; son, Russell; four brothers & two sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 5426 12^th Ave. S., Minneapolis.  Vanda will be laid to rest with her husband at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, 9:00 AM, Friday, August 21.
