Timothy James Crear, age 76 of Woodbury, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 11, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by service, dedication, and deep commitment to family and community.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella F. Crear (Yde); his father, James P. Crear; and his brother, Lawrence A. Crear.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; his daughters, Diana and Tammie; his siblings, Richard (Kristy) Crear, Catherine (Ed) Sprout, James (Lynn) Crear, and Christianna Vind; and his stepmother, Rose Hill. He is also remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and fellow veterans.
Timothy proudly served his country across multiple branches of the United States military, including the U.S. Navy, where he served aboard the USS Oklahoma City; the Army National Guard; and the Air Force National Guard.
He spent over 40 years with Cenex and was actively involved with the Minnesota National Guard Youth Camp for over 20 years. Timothy was a devoted member of VFW Post 9024 and American Legion Post 501, where he supported numerous veteran-focused initiatives.
He was especially known for his participation in his local Poppy Days, Memorial Day celebration, and involvement with the Wall of Thanks.
Timothy James Crear will be remembered for his strong work ethic, steadfast patriotism, and the lasting impact he made through service, fellowship, and love for those around him.
A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Immediately following, Military Honors will be provided by Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Tim's family kindly requests memorials be made in his memory.
