Thomas W. Sundell

Thomas W. Sundell, 82, of Hopkins, passed away Monday, June 4. He was born February 28, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa to Axel and Clara (nee Lindell) Sundell. Thomas is survived by children Bill (Angie) Sundell, Vickie (Dave Navarro) Herme-Mattys, Tom (Paula) Herme, and Bryan (Peg) Murrill, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and sister Louise Moinette. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis and sister Linnea Gaspard. Thomas served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Chief Radioman, and his community by impacting countless lives as a Special Needs Teacher in St. Louis Park Senior High School and other locations. He will be forever treasured and missed. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Friday, June 8, at the Minnehaha United Methodist Church, 3701 East 50th Street, Minneapolis, followed by 11 AM Funeral Services. Interment with honors will be 1 PM Wednesday, June 13, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial preferred.
