Tom worked in new home construction for many years until accepting his dream job of Parks Management with Dakota County. Outside of work, Tom loved working in his yard and and always made sure it was immaculate. He also was proud of the fact that he built four homes for he, Mary and the kids over the years, and was always willing to lend a remodeling hand to family and friends. Tom and Mary enjoyed boating the river and spending time with their close friends at Hastings Marina. After selling their last boat, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cabin in Webster, Wisconsin. No matter where he went, Tom was sure to make friends with anyone he met. Most of all, Tom cherished the time spent with his family and loved nothing more than becoming a "PaPa".
