Thomas M. Klein

Thomas M. "Chuggy" Klein, age 61, of Hastings, died unexpectedly, October 27, 2019 at his home. Thomas Michael Klein was born August 21, 1958, in Red Wing, to Richard and Barbara (Kane) Klein. He attended Hastings Schools, graduating in 1976. Tom was a talented softball player on local teams, played hockey at Hastings, and was an avid deer hunter. He was a lover of all sports, but especially the Twins, Vikings and Wild. In 1978 Tom was the World Champion in Foosball. When it comes to board games, Tom would say he'd "never been beaten". Tom was employed for many years at 3M at the Cottage Grove plant He dearly loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Tom is preceded in death by his wife Diane, and his father Richard. He is survived by his wife Maureen (Kochendorfer), his children Matt (Stephanie) Klein, Patrice (Ryan) Illa, Wade (Jess) Klein and Makenna (Nathan) Holt; his grandchildren Brody, Alex and Connor Illa, Madelyn Klein and Isla Holt; his mother Barbara Klein; his brother Michael (Kim) Klein and his sister Gretchen (Tom) Fenenga; also by Dena Klein, and his nephews, nieces and many friends. The funeral Service for Tom Klein will be at 10:00 am on Monday, November 4, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th Street West, Hastings. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings and also for 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church on Monday.
