Age 50 of Apple Valley, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2017. Survived by wife, Michele;children, Joshua, Joseph & Chloe Illg, Christina & Amber Severson & Shawna McGuire; parents, Gene & Dottie; brother, Jon (Kimberly) of Rochester; sister, Amy (Jason) Solinger; nieces and nephews, Emerson, Reagan, Dominick, Jackson and Lucia; many other relatives and friends. Tom worked in the IT dept. of the U of M and was a Retired Lieutenant of the Apple Valley Fire Department. He was very active in the church community. Tom was a proud graduate of St. John’s University. He loved camping, being active, running, the outdoors and everything sports.Visitation from 1-4pm on Sun., May 7, 2017 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am on Mon., May 8, 2017 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd., Eagan, with visitation one hour prior to mass.  Interment Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (https://afsp.org/take-action/give-a-gift/) or Apple Valley Firefighters Relief Association (www.avfra.org/).
