Theresa E. King

Theresa E. (Leifeld) King, age 90 of New Trier, died peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Norris Square Senior Living in Cottage Grove. Theresa Elizabeth, the daughter of Louis and Catherine (Fox) Leifeld, was born on March 15, 1927, in Vermillion, MN. She attended school there and later was married to William King on June 15, 1949 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion. They enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and along with Bill raised 14 children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William "Bill" King Jr.; her sons-in-law, Tim McDonald and William Halek; her grandson, Kevin McDonald; her siblings, Joseph Leifeld, Leo Leifeld, and Catherine Ginther. Theresa is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill King; her children, Elizabeth (Rick Brandeburg) King, Theresa (Neil) Rademacher, Joanne McDonald, Robert (Karen) King, Daniel (Janet) King, John (Kathy) King, Janice (Larry) Hruza, Sharon (Joseph) Hruza, Paul (Mary) King, Mary (John Melchert) Gale, Rosanne (Jeff) Otto, Rick (Jenny) King, and Patrick (Marti) King; her sister, Dorothy Becker; her 42 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Marys Catholic Church in New Trier, with Father Cole Kracke officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings, and will continue for one hour prior to Mass at church on Wednesday morning. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
