Terry Terence W. Salo

Terence William 'Terry' Salo, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Hastings, MN on June 1, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Terry was born February 29, 1944 in Ely, Minnesota to William and Tersi Salo. He graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in Education. He was a teacher for 32 years; 1 year in Biwabik and 31 years in Farmington. Terry mainly taught Art and was an accomplished artist himself. He married Janice Brunner Von Bargen on January 18, 1983 in Hastings. He was an exceptional husband, father and friend. His wit and charm will be missed greatly.Terry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice; children, Paula (Bob) Betz of Wolverton, MN; Ronald Von Bargen of Cannon Falls; Elizabeth (Jerry) Christianson of Red Wing; Erin Salo; Tadd Salo; 14 grandchildren; In-Laws, Laura & Fran Teuber; Norma Beskar; Carol & Hubert Murphy; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service, officiated by Fr. Allan Paul Eilen, will be Monday (6/6) 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th St. W., Hastings. Visitation will be Sunday (6/5) 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, as well as one hour prior to the funeral service at church.
