Steven Andrew Kovacs

Steven Andrew Kovacs, 73, passed peacefully on Dec. 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a long two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve had a successful career in sales and teaching at Dakota Tech. His passion and love of music began at home, continuing to the WBL HS choir, Liturgical music, leading to his own bands… The Four Coachmen, 1st Things 1st, and JS Trio.

He enjoyed woodworking, sports, especially golf, and spending time with Deb at their lake home.

Preceded in death by parents, John and Ruth Kovacs. Survived by his wife, Deb; sons, Andrew and Patrick (Megan); grandchildren, Casey and Dylan; sisters, Gail Ward, Sue Pearson, and Jody Jarvis; and brother, John Kovacs.

Special thank you to Jody Jarvis who lovingly assisted Deb with Steve’s home hospice care until passing.

A Celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 2pm on January 6, 2026, with visitation one hour prior at Starkson Family ~ Anderson Chapel, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, MN 55124.

In lieu of flowers, memorials of donor’s choice or donations to St. Scholastica Convent.
