Sophia E. "Tuddie" Riley

Sophie E. "Tuddie" Riley, age 91, of Hastings died Wednesday, 12/10/2014 at Regina Care Center. Sophie was born August 19, 1923 in Inver Grove Heights, MN to Charles and Sophia (Fournier) Rosenberger. She was a 1941 graduate of South St. Paul High School. She married James E. Riley on November 16, 1946 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in South St. Paul, MN. James died November 10, 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Stephen and Kenneth Riley; husband James; daughter Loretta Chezick; sisters Hazel Brannan, Marjorie Reil, Cecilia Holste, and Jane Brenna. Sophie is survived by her children Mary Riley Porter (Charles) of Eden Prairie, MN, James M. Riley (Claudia) of Ladue, MO, Ann Riley of Hastings, Patrick Riley of South St. Paul, Lisa Schuldes (Don) of Phoenix, AZ and Sean Riley of North Carolina; 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; a sister Mildred Ruhr of Hastings and a brother Charles Rosenberger of South St. Paul. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke will be held 10:30 AM Monday, December 15 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St, Hastings. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 - 5 PM Sunday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings and also 1 hour prior to the funeral at church on Monday. Pallbearers are Shane Riley, Collin Riley, Reese Chezick Jr, Kevin Hermanson, Nathan Hermanson, Jesaiah Summer and Samuel Porter; honorary pallbearer is Joseph Riley.
