Sonja E. Anderson

Sonja E. Anderson,
of Mpls., age 101, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. Preceded in death by husband, LeRoy “Roy”; son, Mark (Beth) of Kansas; infant daughter; and sister, Elva Shea of Edina. Born in Sweden March 30, 1915. She immigrated with her family in 1925 and settled in southern MN. Married husband, Roy in 1936 in Waseca, MN. Moved to Mpls. in 1946 when Roy joined the forerunner of the Star Tribune newpaper as a printer. Sonja was employed by the Ebenezer Society for a number of years. Survived by children, Lance of Apple Valley, Mary Ellen of St. Paul; sister, Sandra Carlson of Edina; 5. grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-granddaughters. Funeral service, Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Mpls. Sonja’s family would like to thank the Fairview Hospice for their care and compassion and the Edina Care Center staff for their loving care during Sonja’s stay.
