Sister Florence M. Judge, Rsm

Sister Florence M. Judge, RSM age 93 of Baltimore, formerly of Hastings, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Villa in Baltimore, Maryland. Sister Florence, the daughter of John and Barbara Clare (Steffen) Judge was born on February 22, 1923 in Marshan Township, Minnesota. She was a 1941 graduate of Hastings High School. After graduation, Florence worked at Smeads for a short time, then went to Washington D.C. taking a job at the Pentagon. During this time she recognized her calling and entered her religious life on February 2, 1946 with the Religious Sisters of Mercy at Immaculate Conception Convent in Baltimore. Sister Florences ministry of education, includes teaching in GA, VA, AL, MD, FL, DC. Sister Florence is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mary Jo Judge-Reuter, Kathleen (Dan) Sobaski, Margaret (Adolph) Denn, Patricia (Edward) Schmitz; brothers Owen, John F. "Jack", Kenneth "Buck"; brother-in-law, Joseph P. Meier. Survived by sisters Maxine C. Judge (Marvin) Raway, Charlotte C. Judge-Meier; Sister-in-law, Harriet Judge; all of Hastings; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West 15th St. Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
