Shirley T. Klein

Shirley T. Klein, age 84, of Hastings died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings following an extended illness. Shirley Theresa, the daughter of Math and Mary (Kimmes) Molitor, was born on April 20, 1930 in Hastings. She graduated Hastings High School with the class of 1948. On October 1, 1949, Shirley was united in marriage to Bernard Klein at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. She was a longtime bookkeeper at the Dakota County Abstract and Title and later retired in 1990. Shirley was an active volunteer and loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ray, John and Nick Molitor, Hildegard Gerlach and Delores Kuhn. Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bernard of Hastings; sons, Chris (Lori) Klein and Daniel (Dawn) Klein, both of Hastings; three grandchildren, Josie Klein, Jack Klein, and Tanner Volkmann; and by many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 7 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth Street in Hastings. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 until time of the Saturday service. A private family interment will take place in the parish cemetery at a later time. Pallbearers are Jim Molitor, Charlie Molitor, Mary Kay Kulla, Mary Kimmes, Marlene Breckner, Carol Phillips and Jared Johnson.
