Shirley M. Pierce

Pierce (Kostelic), Shirley M., age 88 of Burnsville, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2007 surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Joseph Kostelic; daughter, Judith Stepien; granddaughter, Jill Gowling; and two brothers, Dick & Kenneth Oakman. Survived by husband, Sam; daughters, Marcia (Jim) Gowling and Mary (Scott) Hutter; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ron Stepien; one sister and two brothers. Shirley was born August 26, 1918 in Virginia, MN. She lived in Glencoe for many years, where Joseph was a teacher, coach and athletic director. Shirley married Sam Pierce after Joseph’s death, living in IA, IL, OH and finally retiring in Arkansas. Memorial service Thursday, 11 AM, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Chapel, 13801 Fairview Drive, Burnsville. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Virginia, MN.
