Shirley M. Johnson

Shirley M. Johnson, age 76 of Apple Valley, died peacefully at her home on Saturday evening, September 23, 2017, following an extended illness. Shirley Mae, was born May 5, 1941 in Hastings, MN the daughter of Theodore Frances (Volkert) Chamberlain. She attended and graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1959. Shirley married Lloyd Johnson November 24, 1959 in Hastings. Shirley and Lloyd co-owned and operated Johnsons Hardware Hank in downtown Hastings for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Audrey Friberg. Shirley is survived by her husband, Lloyd Johnson; her daughter, Dawn (Fred) Koestner; her grandson, Benjamin Koestner; her sister, Rita Walker and her brother, Stephen Chamberlain; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Rosemount, with Pastor David Clear officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
