Shirley Ann Kieffer, 86, of Cumberland, WI passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022 at the Care and Rehab Nursing Home in Cumberland, WI. She was born on September 21, 1935 in Faribault, Minnesota to Lee and Laura (Stadler) Hanson and graduated with the class of 1954 from Bethlehem Academy of Faribault. On August 7, 1954 Shirley married Ronald Kieffer and together raised their 9 children. Shirley was a talented seamstress, loving mother and enjoyed canning, baking and most of of all reading. She was a dedicated volunteer at church and active with the wive's of the KC's. Shirley was a social butterfly and loved hosting parties and family get togethers. You could always catch her on the phone with family or friends keeping them informed of the newest addition or the newest accomplishment in the family. She was proud of them all. Her religion was very important to her which was shown in her beautiful collection of angels. Her spirit will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Yvonne (Fran) Arendt, Julie (Gary) Bauer, Gene (Mary) Kieffer, Larry Kieffer, Sue (Joe) Girgen, Stephanie (Bryan) Aho, Peggy (Jerry) Hokanson, Carolyn (Randy) Colby and Scott (Tawnya) Kieffer; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Reuvers, Karen (Jerry) Huebschen and Sonia Hanson; sister-in-law, Noreen Hanson and many dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brother Terry Hanson, brother-in-law Ronald Reuvers, and sister-in-law Alonza Raway. In Lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to the Knights of Columbus Rice Lake Council #2137 to be used for their Toys for Tots project. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 9:30am - 11:00 am at the church. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Trier. Friends and family are cordially invited to a reception meal and fellowship at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, following the burial. Arrangements are being handled by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
