Shelly D. Otto

Shelly D. Otto, age 55, of Hastings, passed away at Untied Hospital in St. Paul on September 7, 2019. Shelly was a homemaker and a mother to a blended family of 7 children. She was a wonderful cook, who enjoyed making pickles and loved her garden, She enjoyed fishing, looking for agates, and shedding antlers with Bruce. More than anything, Shelly absolutely adored her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dianna Sherrill and her brother Jimmy Sherrill. Shelly is survived by her partner, Bruce Guck; children, Brandon Otto, Ryan Otto, Danica Swanson, James Sherrill Jr., Nathan Guck, Brandan Guck, and Drake Guck; brother, John Sherrill; sister, Dolly; father and mother in law, Ron and Deian Guck; and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Shelly's Life will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm with prayer service starting at 2:00pm at Spring Lake Park - East Shelter, 8395 127th St. E. in Hastings. The family is requesting anyone attending wear camouflage or blaze orange attire. The Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is serving the family.
