Shawn "Bubba" Cauchy

Shawn “Bubba” Cauchy, age 45 of Farmington and formerly of Prescott, died suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Shawn Jeffrey, the son of John and Linda (Cysiewski) Cauchy, was born on September 25, 1973, in St. Paul. Following his graduation from Prescott High School with the class of 1992, Bubba worked for Merrilot Industries, then TSA, and most recently at Kemps for the last fourteen years. Bubba was a die-hard Packers fan. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and the Wild, and would always have a jersey or hat on during the game. Bubba also enjoyed playing softball for many years as well. In his younger years, Bubba enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed his fishing trip to Rainy Lake with his grandpa Pete. On April 5, 2018, Bubba was united in marriage to his longtime sweetheart, Selena Nyberg. Bubba will forever be remembered for being a big teddy bear with a heart of gold for anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete (Catherine) Cauchy; and by his uncle, Scott “Red” Cysiewski. Bubba is survived by his wife, Selena; daughter, Courtney; parents, Linda and John Cauchy; siblings, Andrea (Travis) Brown and Jenifer (Mike) Briles; nieces and nephews, Taylor, John, Savannah, and Oliver; and by numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Crossroads Church, 225 West Thirty Third St., Hastings, with Pastor Tim Stanley officiating. Immediately following the service, a light reception will be held at church. In keeping with Bubba’s love for the Packer’s, please wear your Packer gear, Viking fans stay home. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel ~ Wise Chapel, 400 Spring Street, Hastings, and also for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bubba’s family. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel.
