Sharon "Shari" Kaye Welter

Sharon “Shari” Welter, age 82, of Apple Valley, MN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 23, 2025, at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.

Shari was born in Tripp, SD to Raymond and Alma Hoff on August 28, 1943. She grew up a farm girl there and graduated from Mitchell High School. Shari then went on to cosmetology school and also worked as a waitress for a long while. She eventually went on to work as a librarian at Wescott Library in Eagan, MN. She worked there for many years before retiring. 

Shari enjoyed spending time with family, holidays, lunches with friends, crossword puzzles, crocheting, and watching her favorite shows.

Shari was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Alma Hoff; and brother, Brian Hoff.

Shari is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gerald “Jerry”; son, Scott (Andrea); daughter, Dawn; as well as three grandsons and three great grandsons.

Per Shari’s wishes, the family will be having a private service later to remember and celebrate her life.
