Sean O'Brien

Sean Michael Ben OBrien, age 41, of Hastings, died Friday, January 23, 2015. He was born February 27, 1973 in Hastings to Michael E. OBrien III and Cynthia J. (Newman) OBrien. He graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1991. Sean worked at ConAgra as a miller for 10 years and as a consultant at Union Resources. He was an avid Mopar enthusiast and collector. He loved his side job buying and selling cars. He was preceded in death by his father Michael OBrien III and grandparents Roy Newman and Michael E. OBrien II and Lucy OBrien. Sean is survived by Kari M. Cahill-OBrien, children Dillon, Alec and Colin OBrien all of Hastings; his mother Cynthia OBrien of Mankato; siblings Michael (Suzie) OBrien, Pat OBrien, Tim OBrien all of Hastings, Danny (Norma) OBrien of Santa Barbara, CA; grandmother Evelyn Newman of St. James, MN as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. A visitation will be held at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home and Cremation Service from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, 1/28/15 and 1 hour prior to the funeral service at church on Thursday. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Paris Pasch, will be held Thursday 1/29/15 at 11 AM at Christs Family Church, 518 East 2nd Street, Hastings. Pallbearers are Dillon, Alec and Colin OBrien, Jacob Newman, Eric, Scott and Jason Pierson. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Pierson, Phillip McAllister, Brad Newman, Caleb Cahill and Dan OBrien.
