Scott G Carlson

Scott G. Carlson, age 60, of Hastings, passed away on May 14, 2017 at his home. He was born on February 17, 1957 to Glen & Kathleen (Smith) Carlson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On May 22, 1982 he married Lori (Pittman) in Waterville. He served as a mechanic in the US Army, mostly in Germany. The majority of his career he worked as mechanic with the International Operating Engineers, traveling around. He thoroughly loved his job and the men he worked with. Scott enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting and most of all, his kids and grandkids. Scott is survived by his wife, Lori; children, Mike (Renee) Carlson; Megan (Jake) Poepl; grandchildren, Isabella and Becker Carlson, Louis and Jacob Poepl ; parents, Glen and Kathleen Carlson; siblings, Timothy (Jenni) Carlson; Terri (Jeff) Knutsen; Matt Carlson; many other relatives and friends. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Menke, will be held on Friday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 9th St. W., Hastings. A gathering will take place two hours prior to the service at church from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
