Sandra M. "Sandy" Hill

August 26, 1951 — November 30, 2020

Sandra M. "Sandy" Hill, age 69 of Hastings, Minnesota, passed away on November 30, 2020 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandra Mary, the twin daughter of Fred Jr. and Viola (Kiihbauch) Hill, was born on August 26, 1951, in St. Paul. She attended school and ‘home bound’ schooling in Cannon Falls, Cottage Grove, and St. Paul due to her diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Sandy graduated from Southwest State University of Minnesota with degrees in psychology and sociology. She worked for the state of Minnesota for 10 years. Sandy enjoyed traveling and went on a cruise with friends. She traveled with family in a RV to Memphis. Also, a cross country tour from Minnesota to California, visiting many cities. She loved challenges and learned to drive (loved her Scout Jeep). She tried skiing in Welch. Also, horseback riding and enjoyed riding on a motorcycle with her brother, Mike. She was ready for Treasure Island day or night with her best friend and PCA, Chris. Her hobbies included needlework, music, working on 1000 pc puzzles and turning them into wall art. Sandy was a “computer whiz.” When she couldn’t move the ‘mouse’ anymore, she would play games and have her niece Shelly move the mouse while she called the ‘moves.’ Sandy will be remembered for her smile and happy disposition. She had a memorable personality. She loved decorating for the holidays especially Halloween. She was a ‘trickster’ and enjoyed playing jokes on family and friends. Sandy may be gone…. But never forgotten. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gary Hill, Pat Brunelle, and Mike Hill; and by her grandparents, aunts and uncles. Sandy is survived by her twin sister, Beverly (Dan) Scott and siblings, Kitty (Gary) Robinson and Cindy (Leo) Ballesteros; best friend, Chris Johnson; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews; and by many other relatives and friends. A private family graveside service will be held at General Lutheran Cemetery in South St. Paul. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
