Sandra J. "Sandy" Bohlken

Sandra J. "Sandy" Bohlken, age 71 of Hastings, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 2, 2019, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Sandra Jean was born February 25, 1948 in Winona, MN to Eugene and Elizabeth (Allen) Schuppel. She lived with her family at Prairie Island growing up as a daughter to the Lock Master at the Lock and Dam. She attended and was a graduate of Red Wing High School. Sandy married Donald Bohlken August 13, 1983 in Eagan. MN. She worked for over 30 years as a buyer for Koch Refinery in Rosemount. She loved all animals and especially enjoyed horseback riding and her special dogs at home. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Donald, her brother Larry (Vonne) Schuppel, sister Tracey Schuppel, uncle Donald Allen (Judy Robeson), sister in law Darlene Bohlken, nephews & nieces John, Greg, Dave, Dan & Mike Bohlken, Chad Schuppel, Kami Leach, Chantalle & Chanae Nelson, and by several great nieces & great nephews as well as other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Reverend Lloyd Menke officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will also be held at church. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday evening at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, and also for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning.
