Ruth L. Nielsen

Ruth L. Nielsen, age 86, of Prescott, Wisconsin, died peacefully at Regina Medical Center in Hastings on Saturday evening, March 12, 2022. She was born on April 3, 1935 in Atlantic City, NJ to Harris and Sara Becker. Ruth was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially going out for Lobster dinners. She was an adventurous woman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Nielsen; parents, Harris and Sara Becker; daughter, Gloria Nauer; sister, Gloria Ackerman, daughters in law, Kelly Nauer and Patty Nauer; sons in law, James Duncan and Dan Sarnstrom; and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Brian (Erin) Nielsen, Sharon Mertens, Arlene Duncan, Lorrie Culbertson, Michael Nauer, Gerald Jr. "Jerry" (Nancy), Barb (Mike) Bauer, and Janet Sarnstrom; 39 grands; and abundance of great grands; siblings, Harris (Arlene) Becker Jr., Albert Sr. (Kathryn) Becker, Kenneth (Holly) Becker, and Arlene "Toots" Hoffman; and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings. The interment will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
