of Lilydale Minnesota, age 74 died unexpectedly November 20th, 2019. Beloved husband of 28 years to Patricia. Russ graduated from Sibley High School. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and Northwest Airlines. Russ was a member of the Masons, the Shrine Club, and the American Legion. He is preceded in death by Melvin Hammond Senior, Marie Shry, Melvin Hammond Junior, Beverly Moser, and Marilyn Hammond. Survived by Wife Patricia, Son David, Daughter Susan Ogbemudia (Mike), Step Daughter Jennifer Benson, six Grandchildren, Brothers Richard Hammond, William Hammond (Mary), Sister Linda Knox, Step Brother Donald Broos, Cousins, Nephews, and Nieces. Visitation 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday December 1st, 2019 at Henry W. Anderson Funeral Home, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, Minnesota. Funeral Service 11:00 am Monday December 2nd, 2019. Visitation one hour before service. Russ will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send a Memorial to Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center.
