Rose Mary Tix

Rose Mary (Memmer) Tix was born on Nov 25, 1936 to Edmund and Gertrude Memmer of St Paul, MN.

Rose was the youngest of 3 children, her older sisters being Eunice and Phyllis. After graduation at Harding High School, Rose worked at Dunn and Bradstreet as a bookkeeper.

Rose met Anthony Tix at the Prom Ballroom in St Paul. They were married on June 21, 1958 and made their home in Vermillion, MN. Rose & Tony had 6 children, Ken (Ruth), Susan Broussard, LuAnn Neisen (Joel), Carolyn Weide (John), Peter (Gina) and Chris. Rose has 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She loved playing card games and other sorts of board games, she was a fierce competitor and loved winning. For years Rose knit booties, mittens and scarves for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as for the Appalachian Christmas Shoebox, Sharing and Caring Hands and other charities. In the summer she loved to fish and go for boat rides. For years, she hosted fall volleyball parties and Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for the entire family. But Rose was most known for her devotion to the family.

Rose was a faithful Catholic, prayed the rosary at least once a day and enjoyed her time of Adoration on Wednesday afternoons. She passed away on Saturday November 8, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tony, and her sisters.

She is survived by her children, Ken (Ruth), Susan, LuAnn (Joel), Carolyn (John), Peter (Gina), and Chris; grandchildren, Mike (Saundra), Matt (Nora), Richard, Jennifer, Ben, John (Ciera), Joseph (Kelly), Jessica, Natalie (Mike), Alex, Trenton, Alissa (Rick), Anthony; great-grandchildren, Grace, Max, Tommy, Lily, Cade, Liam, Henry, Zoe, Hugo, James, Robin, Luca, Jack, Winnie; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November, 13, 2025 from 4-7PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November, 14, 2025 at 11AM at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion, MN with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in Saint John Catholic Cemetery.
