Rose Ann Reinardy

Rose A. Reinardy, age 90, of Hastings, died peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at United Hospital in St. Paul following a recent illness. Rose Ann, the daughter of Mark and Ursula (Shannon) Serres, was born on May 25, 1924 in rural Dakota County. On October 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Irvin J. Reinardy at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. They enjoyed old time dancing together as well as raising their family prior to his death on December 11, 1982. Rose was a longtime employee at Hudson Mfg. and later Smead Mfg., where she retired after twenty six years of employment. She enjoyed gardening and all types of flowers. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin; her son, Eugene; her grandson, David; and by her siblings, Marcus, John, Mary "Kate" Schweich, Robert, Richard (Diane), and Patricia Troestler. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Larry) Jensen of Cannon Falls; her daughter-in-law, Kerry Reinardy of Hastings; her three great grandchildren, Laura, Heather, and Jacob Eugene of Hastings; her siblings, Betty Werner of Vermillion, Fred (Jareen Doffing) Serres of Hastings and Thomas "Tim" (Carol) Serres of Hastings; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph Schweich of Hastings, Elaine Serres of Red Wing, and David Troestler of Texas; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., in Hastings. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at church on Friday morning. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
