Ronald O. Moen, age 70, of Hastings, passed away October 6, 2015. Ron was born November 8, 1944 in Hastings, MN to Orvin and Betty (Hoffman) Moen. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1962 and attended Culver Stockton College in Missouri and the University of Minnesota. He attended Officers Candidate School and served in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Ron married Charlotte Kramer on November 30, 1968 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Eden Valley, MN. Ron was a well-known and respected sales rep for Livingston Ford and later Webber Ford in Hastings. He won many top selling honors including the Top Hatter’s Award for the most trucks sold in the 5 state area. Ron and Charlotte owned and operated the Hastings A&W Drive-In Restaurant during the 1970’s and early 1980’s. For the last 20 years, Ron worked as a sales rep for NCH Corporation in the southeastern territory of Minnesota. Ron was an avid reader and his library contained over 800 hardcover books on topics such as politics, economics, history, religion, world leaders, and business entrepreneurs. He enjoyed politics, classic cars, working in the yard, listening to conservative talk-radio and jazz music, and was a lifelong Minnesota Gophers fan. Ron is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter, Bridget, her husband Scott and their children, Elizabeth, Nick, and Jack; son, Patrick, his wife Jennifer and their sons, Alex and Ryan; and sister, Geri Heagle of Brentwood, CA. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Dave Hennen, will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation 2 hours prior to Mass at the Church. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
