Ronald H. Butze

Ronald H. Butze, age 89 of Hastings, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025.

Preceded in death by his wife, Alice.

Survived by his children, Paul (Marie), Scott (Mary), and Jill (Mark) Woodward; grandchildren, Meghan (Doug) Anderson, Luke (Ali), Danielle (Kyle) Ryman, Joseph, Brian (Karly) Woodward, and Michael (Sydney) Woodward; great-grandchildren, Claire, Nora, Brooke, Alice, Margot, and Jameson; brother, Richard (Barrie); many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ron graduated from West High School in Minneapolis in 1955. He then joined the US Army in June of 1955. After his time in the military, he married his high school sweetheart, Alice, on May 16, 1959. Ron was an avid marathon runner. He enjoyed golfing and playing slow-pitch softball. Ron spent his career working for Morton Salt for over 30 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.

Funeral at 11am on Fri., Aug. 8, 2025, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings, with visitation one hour prior. Private family burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Thank you to the staff at Hospice of the Midwest and Artis Senior Living of Woodbury for the excellent care of Ron. Memorials given will be directed to a charity chosen by the family that held special significance to Ron.
