Roger Edward Kleis
December 12, 1935 – June 5, 2026
Roger Edward Kleis, of Hastings, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 90.
Roger lived a full and meaningful life built on hard work, family, and the simple joys he cherished most. He dedicated his entire adult career to 3M, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. Outside of work, Roger found his greatest happiness in the outdoors – spending time hunting and fishing – and took tremendous pride in maintaining the most immaculate lawn on the street, a reflection of his attention to detail and care in all things.
Roger was previously married to Marion, and together they had four wonderful children. His grandchildren were his biggest joy and family remained the center of his life.
He is survived by his children: Karen (Scott) Whipple, Nancy (Darin) Zimmerman, Donna (Bob) Seidl, and John Kleis.
He was a proud grandfather to Duane (Nikki) Zimmerman, Krystal (Brian) Johnson, David (Kristen) Zimmerman, Ashley (Josh) Schuster, John Whipple, Adam (Melissa) Seidl, and Shari Kleis, and a great-grandfather to Conner, Elayna, Onika, Jarik, Morgan, Madalyn, Mason, Avery, Jase and another one on the way.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Henry Kleis, and his brother, Jerry. He is also remembered by his siblings, Mitzi, Mary, Char, Kathy, Hank, Gretchen, and David.
Roger will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, and the pride he took in his home and family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
