Robert O. Johnson

Robert O. Johnson, age 81, of Hastings died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings. Robert was born October 16, 1927 in Staples, Mn to Oscar and Irene (Root) Johnson. He attended Staples area schools and served in the US Navy. He married Betty V. (Nelson) on July 15, 1946 in Staples. Betty preceded him in death on August 17, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Linda. Survivors include his children Cherrie Martin of Mora, MN; Barbara Johnson of St. Paul; Deb Mangum of Michigan; Jan (Jeff) Williams of Bryant, IA; Sue Fredricks of Mora, MN; Karen Sonnee of Menomonie, WI; Roger (Pam) Johnson of St. Paul; Billy Johnson of Maplewood, MN; Robert (Karen) Johnson of Hastings, MN; and David (Lori) Johnson of Inver Grove Heights, MN; also by 32 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 10-11 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home; 201 East 7th Street; Hastings, MN.A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Chapel.Interment will follow in the Cottage Grove Cemetery.
