Robert "Bob" Woxland

Robert A. "Bob" Woxland, age 88 of Hastings, died Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Regina Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Bob was born April 10, 1928 in Hastings to Peter and Sarah (Knutson) Woxland. He was a 1946 graduate of Hastings High School and was employed by Hastings School District 200 as a maintenance man prior to his retirement. Bob married Elvira Langenfeld on July 23, 1966 at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings. He loved golfing and bowling as well as collecting stamps. Bob also was an avid reader and enjoyed archeology. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elvira and by his brothers, Maurice and Carroll. Bob is survived by his son, Carl of Hastings; his siblings, Francis "Fran" and Doris; and by other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 will follow in Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
