Robert "Bob" Werner

Robert "Bob" A. Werner, age 75, unexpectedly passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

Bob A. Werner was was born in Hastings, February 1, 1948 to parents Anthony and Mary Kathrine (Stoffel) Werner. Bob continued to work on the farm throughout his school age years and then continued his career in the construction trade for many years. After his career in the construction trade, he later on bought his own tree spade business where he transplanted trees for 18 years. He continued to stay busy and work for a few more companies before retiring. Bob married the love of his life, Karen Kjos, on December 1, 1967 in Vermillion, MN. He enjoyed traveling, including spending over 20 winters in Mission, Texas, and was an exceptional handy man. Bob was a true fabricator and could make almost everything out of anything metal, he would never let anyone just stand in his shop with their hands in their pockets. The Miesville Mudhens always held a special place in Bob's heart, he is in the Mudhens Hall of Fame for all of the work he did and the passion he had for them. He attended numerous games, helped with the renovation of the field, helped with the scoreboard, and with the lights.

He is preceded by his wife Karen; parents, Anthony and Mary Kathrine; brother, Nick Werner; aunts, uncles, and other family members.

He is survived by his children, Theodore "Ted" (Renee) Werner and Mathew "Matt" (Jenny) Werner; grandchildren, Jacob (Jordan) Werner, Abbie (Harry) Houck, Lauren Werner, Lizzie (Austin) Schmidt, Amanda Werner; great grandchildren, Emersyn, Bennett, Paisley, and Charlotte; siblings, Kathie, Bernie (Beth), Linda, Pete (Jenny), Paul (Laurinda), Sue (Ron), Ron (Maureen) and Pat (Pam).

Bob's family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the staff and the intensive care unit at Regions Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Vermillion, MN with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. and a luncheon following the service.
