Robert "Bob" Kavitz

Robert Kavitz 'Bob', age 74 of Hastings, passed away on September 17, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 2 grandson's Timmy and Joshua, and Blake Prosser. He is survived by daughters Shelly Kavitz; Shannon (John) Willenbring; Stacey (Mike) Lee; and son Steve Kavitz; Grandchildren; Jessica, Mike, Matt, Brianna, Nicolas, Amie, and Ryan. Also survived by lifelong love, companion, and best friend, Betty Prosser and her children; Barb (Phil), Julie, Blake’s wife, Becky, and Maria (Dave). Brothers Mike, James, and Eugene Kavitz and Sister Patty (Mike) Krueger. Bob retired from MN Mutual Life Insurance 14 years ago and enjoyed traveling with Betty, golfing, playing cards and spending as much time as he could with his family and friends. Bob exhibited a curiosity for life with a willingness to learn new things. He loved history, sports and good food. Bob will be greatly missed by his family, extended family and his many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (9/23) at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings. A visitation and public viewing will be held on Friday (9/22) from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Wise Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 400 Spring Street, Hastings, and 1 hour prior to mass at church on Saturday. The family would like to express our deep gratitude to our dad's hospice nurse, Tanya with Abode Hospice, for her love and care for not only our dad, but for the whole family.
