Rita Mary Hopp

Rita M. Hopp, age 80 of Hastings died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at her home. Rita was born March 23, 1933 in Hastings to Michael and Mary (Eckert) Raway. She was a 1951 graduate of Hastings High School and married Joseph J. Hopp on July 2, 1955 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Rita was a Smead Mfg. employee, retiring after 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph; sisters Florence Bauer and Mildred Doffing; brothers Sylvester, Eugene, and Henry Raway. Rita is survived by her daughters June Hopp of Hastings, Barbara (Willard) Wagner of Northfield, Virginia Hopp of Hastings, Elizabeth (Scott) Ziemer of Excelsior, Anna (James) Eller of Welch; son Frank (Chris) Hopp of Ellsworth, WI; grandchildren Carrie Olson, Christopher Wagner, Caitlin (Aaron) Jenson, Carlye and Dakota Ziemer; great-grandchildren Brayden, Brenna, Brody, Owen and Bennett; sister Lillian Schaffer; sisters-in-law Dorothy and Agnes Raway; also numerous nieces and nephews. The Memorial Mass, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke will be held 10:30 AM Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth St., Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church.
