Richard Regis

Richard Regis, 74, of Apple Valley, passed away Saturday surrounded by his loving family. He fought cancer long, hard, and in his own way. He was born February 20, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to Andrew and Pauline (nee Horner) Regis. Richard is survived by his wife, Jean, sons Bret (Theresa) and Chris (Janice) Regis, daughters Diana Regis and Carla (Corey) Betchwars, brother Andy (Madeline) Regis, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, and constant companion, Maddie. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Janis. Richard served his country in the United States Army Reserve, and was a charter member of the Apple Valley American Legion Post #1776. He loved his family, was passionate about guns, and studied history. Richard will be forever loved and treasured. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, December 7 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road. Visitation is scheduled for 4-7 PM Tuesday, December 6 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley (952) 432-2331, and 1 hour prior to service Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
