Richard R. Angus, age 82 of Vermillion, died Thursday, November 14, 2013. Richard was born December 27, 1930 in Farmington, MN to Raymond and Frances (Tutewohl) Angus. A 1947 graduate of Farmington High School, he received his Bachelor Degree at the U of M, St. Paul in 1953. Richard started his career in Rochester, MN with the University of MN Extension Service. From 1963 1965 he was a Peace Corp coordinator for the National 4-H Council in Uruguay. Upon his return until his retirement in 1993, he was Assistant Professor in 4-H for the State of Maryland. During that time, he also completed his Masters and Doctorate degrees. Richard was the Extension specialist emeritus from 1993-2012. He was also National President of the Junior Vegetable Growers Association, National President of Epsilon Sigma Phi, Big Chief of Maryland 4-H Allstars, inducted into the Maryland 4-H Hall of Fame and the National 4-H Hall of Fame and also elected into Rotary Club of College Park, MD in 1972. Richard was past District Governor of Rotary. He received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career for his dedication and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Bernard "Ben" Siebenaler and niece, Sharon Siebenaler. Richard is survived by his sister Mary Siebenaler of Vermillion; brothers Alyn (Carmen) Angus of Fairmont, MN and Bernard Angus (Mark Karels) of Milbank, SD; nephews Steven (Cathy) Angus, Warren Angus, Raymond Siebenaler, George (Kathy) Siebenaler, Edward (Linda) Siebenaler, Howard (Lori) Siebenaler, and Ben (Kathy) Siebenaler; also grandnieces and grandnephews. The Funeral Service, officiated by Fr. Stan Mader will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 19 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Vermillion with visitation held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery, Farmington. The pallbearers are Ray, Edward, Howard and Ben Siebenaler, Steven and Warren Angus.
