Richard G. Beissel

Richard G. Beissel, age 81 of Red Wing, died peacefully on Monday morning, August 26, 2019, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Richard G., the son of Frank Sr. and Sophie (Ostrem) Beissel, was born on June 10, 1938, in Hastings. Following his education, Rich was united in marriage to Darlene King on March 3, 1962, in Hastings. Rich worked for Frandrup Masonry for ten years, and retired from ConAgra Flour Mill in Hastings. He loved riding around in his 1959 Ford hard-top convertible. He also enjoyed deer hunting, being outdoors, cutting wood, and collecting various things from which he will forever be remembered as the "Pinks" in Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlotte Marson, Mary Reinhart, and Darlene Beissel; daughter-in-law, Theresa; niece, Dr. Natalie Beissel; and by his nephew, Shane Reinhart. Rich is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Dave (Hope) Beissel, Joe Beissel, Thomas (Jacki) Beissel, and Linda (Dewey) Christianson; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; siblings, Frank Jr. (Mary) Beissel, Jerry (Joyce) Beissel, Roger (Lonna) Beissel, Stan Beissel, Patricia Holmgren, Barb (Andy) Andreas, Sophie (Keith) Reinhart, and Della (John) Trygestad; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2019, at Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing, with Father Thomas M. Kommers officiating. Interment will follow at Burnside Cemetery in Red Wing. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, and also for one hour prior to Mass at church on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Rich.
