Richard D. Bruce
Age 73, of Minneapolis, born August 1, 1948 on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in Belcourt N.D., to Ernest & Bertha Bruce, passed away peacefully August 14, 2021. Richard was a proud member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. He graduated Augsburg College with honors. Richard was a 50-year member of Carpenters Local Union #322 and 17-year member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local #1005. He loved the outdoors (hunting & fishing), sports (Vikings & Twins) and most of all his family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael & Ernest âJr.â
Richard was a beloved husband, father and brother who will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Elaine; sons: Anthony and Nathaniel (Jen Hobaugh); sisters, Shirley (Barry) Ertl and Sharon Seliski and other family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM, with a visitation one hour before at the Church of St. Helena, 3204 E. 43rd St., Minneapolis. Richard will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
