Regina M. Halepeska

Regina Mary Halepeska, age 92, of Hampton died Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Regina was born September 16, 1922 in Winsted, MN to Edward and Anna (Fiecke) Sterner. She was a 1940 graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic High School. Regina had worked for Griggs Cooper Wholesale Liquor and Great Northern Oil. She married Marcus Halepeska on October 30, 1957 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in St. Paul. Regina loved sewing, quilting and gardening, and will be long remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clement and Andrew Sterner and sister, Margaret Sterner. Regina is survived by her husband Marcus; four children Donald of Hampton, Mary Ann (John) Snyder of Eau Claire, Damian of Minneapolis and Leah Elston of Waukesha, WI; four grandchildren Sarah Snyder, Taylor, Jacob and Claire Elston; ten siblings Agatha Horstman of Cokato, MN, Lucille Jorgenson of Darwin, MN, Rita Laxen of Winsted, MN, Annette Grzeskoviak of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marian Meyer of Madison Lake, MN, Cletus Sterner of Litchfield, Florian Sterner of Minneapolis, Mary Schroeder of West Fargo, Edward Sterner of Ottertail, MN and Eugene Sterner of Ridge, NY. The Memorial Mass, officiated by Father Stan Mader will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 27 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, 23325 Northfield Blvd, Hampton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The honorary pallbearers are Diane Rother, Virginia Carey, Mary Lou McDonald, Mary Lou Endres, Mary Lou Bauer, and Margaret Schwendeman. The family would like to thank Reginas dedicated caregivers; Cathy Albano Gail Flom.
