Regina J. Hoffman

Regina J. (Fasbender) Hoffman, age 96 of Hastings died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her Regina Assisted Living residence. Regina was born on September 6, 1917 in Hastings, MN to Peter and Regina (Zilliox) Fasbender. She married Willis (Pal) Hoffman on September 10, 1949. Prior to her marriage she worked at Hudson Manufacturing and the Gardner Hotel in Hastings. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and the Catholic Aid Association. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and especially baking her chocolate chip cookies which everyone loved. Regina was preceded in death by her husband Pal in 1996, her parents, brother Werner Fasbender and sisters Marie Foster, Florence Caturia, Kay Schleich and Lenora Glass. Regina is survived by her son, John Hoffman of Hastings, daughter Deb (Mike) Rantala of rural Nashwauk; grandchildren Chris Hoffman, Jen (Jeremiah) Fairbanks, Lisa (fianc� Brian) Rantala and Steve Rantala; great-grandson Caysen Fairbanks; sister Marg Gerlach, brother Pete (Harriet) Fasbender, sister-in-law Rita Fasbender; also many nieces and nephews. The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 17 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St, Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Hoffman, Jen Fairbanks, Lisa Rantala, Steve Rantala, Karen Smith and Paul Fasbender.
